Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New Landmark Resort Direct Oceanfront - Low Floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
