Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Extremely Clean! First Floor! Newly Renovated (2022)! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
