Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
