How to get the best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 10% Discount Myrtle Beach retreat, 14-minute drive to Broadway at the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
