Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Now with access to all Hilton managed amenities - 1202 South Hampton has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
