Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Now with access to all Hilton managed amenities - 1202 South Hampton has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
