Tips for getting the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Summer 2025 weeks available. Amazing OCEAN VIEW on popular Shore Dr.. 2BR 2 bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
