How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fantastic Ocean View Condo With 2 Full Beds has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
