Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Riveting Ocean View King Bed Accessible 4th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
