How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Fifth-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
