Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To find the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Private Room Accommodation for 1 Comfortable King Size Bed No added Cleaning Fee has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
