Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
