Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Stunning 3 BR, 3 Bath Grand Atlantic Direct Oceanfront has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
