Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Free State Park Pass 1st Floor (By Beach Star) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
