Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Free State Parks Pass-Ground Floor-Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
