Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group choose date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2BR\/2Bth Condo, Internet, Pool, Vaulted Ceilings, 42'Flat TV has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
