Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 2BR\/2Bth Condo, Internet, Pool, Vaulted Ceilings, 42'Flat TV has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
