Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Fully Furnished Ocean View Two Bedroom Condo-Shipwatch Pointe 1- 319G has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
