Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coastal Comfort Ocean View 2 Bdrm Condo 12th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
