Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your family agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. HS-1115 - Snowbird specials are now available! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
