Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Two story beach house on stilts has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
