How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Two story beach house on stilts has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
