Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- To start, have your group select trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Gorgeous Ocean Front Condo on 17th floor, with Marshland Views. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
