Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sunny Daze. Oceanfront. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
