Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sunny Daze. Oceanfront. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
