Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Fully Renovated! Direct Oceanfront 2 bed \/ 3 bath - Sleeps 10! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
