Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ground floor at The Fairways at River Oaks has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
