Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Glenns Bay Getaway—spacious retreat w\/fire-pit, sunroom, patio & ample parking has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
