Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. New Listing! Golden Mile Oceanside Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
