How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect vacation home:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Coastal Serenity Suite with Views 3rd Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
