How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. World Tour Golf Resort Unit 302 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
