Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Magnificent Caravelle Resort Ocean View Suite - Double Room has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
