Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Start by having your family choose dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. GORGEOUS RESORT and CONDO! Steps to the Beach! Ask about SPECIAL winter rates! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
