Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (4) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
