Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Gorgeous top floor 3BR condo at Magnolia Pointe has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
