Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To find the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Gorgeous top floor 3BR condo at Magnolia Pointe has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
