Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort Oceanfront Condo Remodeled Luxury New Modern has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
