Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Beach Home -3 min walk to beach -with golf cart option has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
