Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Beach Home -3 min walk to beach -with golf cart option has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
