Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book your prefectrental:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Grand Atlantic DELUXE 2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Condo with OCEANFRONT MASTER has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
