Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy Beach Paradise in Ocean Lakes
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
