Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the rightvacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Grande Shores Oceanfront Resort Myrtle Beach Weekly & Monthly Discounted Rates has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
