Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Happy Waves -Direct Ocean Views in the Golden Mile ( Sand Dunes) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
