Strategies to get the best rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sun, Sand, And Fun- Wyndham SeaWatch Resort- 2 Bedroom Deluxe Villas has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
