Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To book the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Harbour Lights™ - 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
