Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group select dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Redesigned Oceanfront Penthouse! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
