Our top Rental home tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Harbour Lights™ - 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
