The Space:
There’s plenty to do at Harbour Lights without even venturing to the close by Grandiose Strand–the local term for the 60+ miles of beach that stretch from Myrtle Beach nearly to Charleston. Tips to get the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- 2-Bedroom Suite has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
