Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the perfectrental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Harbour Lights, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Deluxe has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
