Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Harbour Lights, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Deluxe has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
