Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking yourrental:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Royale Palms Beautiful Studio Perfect for 2 adults has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
