Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Heated Indoor Waterpark! King Bed! OnSite Dining! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
