How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Heated Indoor Waterpark! King Bed! OnSite Dining! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
