Our top Rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Heated Indoor Waterpark! King Bed! OnSite Dining! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
