Our top Rental property booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean View Double Suite at Family Resort + Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
