Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Hidden gem in the heart of Ocean Creek has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
