Myrtle Beach rental home tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Holiday Shores Queen Suite 213 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
