Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
