Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Spring Break Escape: Family Home Near Broadway at the Beach & More has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
