Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Modern Honeymoon King Ocean View in Monterey Bay! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
