Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Modern Honeymoon King Ocean View in Monterey Bay! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
