Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 3rd-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
